Glaslough Villa FC marked the end of a historic and trophy-laden season with a night to remember at the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan. The End of Season Awards Night brought together players, coaches, committee members, and supporters to celebrate the club’s remarkable achievements across all age groups. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters on the night, the club also raised vital funds—leaving us in a strong position to meet our financial obligations as we prepare for the season ahead.
Our guests of honour on the night were John Crudden, FAI Development Officer and Villa legend Karl Deardon, who spent 20 years leading the line for the club. He was crowned the club’s all-time most prolific striker—edging out Bunty "Slot" McCabe after much debate. John presented Glaslough Villa with the FAI Club Mark award —a symbol of excellence and high standards in grassroots football. The award was accepted by Paddy Carroll, whose dedication has helped raise the bar across the club.
Geoff Monahan was presented with a special merit award as he steps down after an incredible 27 years of unwavering service to Glaslough Villa FC. Geoff has been the embodiment of commitment, humility, and hard work—always preferring action over attention. Whether it was coaching, organising, or lending a hand wherever needed, Geoff has been a constant presence, helping to shape the club’s identity through quiet consistency. The club extended its heartfelt thanks not only to Geoff but also to his wife Barbara and their family, whose support over the years made his remarkable contribution possible. Geoff's message reflected the humility we’ve always known him for: “I always wanted to go out the same way I came into this club—quietly… Action speaks louder than words.” He closed with the motto that has defined his time with us: “Just do it.” Geoff is more than just a long-serving volunteer—he is a shining example of what grassroots football is all about. For any aspiring coach or new volunteer stepping into the game, Geoff Monahan is the perfect man to follow. He led not with speeches, but with presence, patience, and purpose. The lessons he’s passed on—whether to players, coaches, or committee members—will echo through the club for many years to come. The club and the wider community owe Geoff, Barbara, and their family a debt of gratitude. Their legacy will always be woven into the fabric of Glaslough Villa FC.
Jacqueline Lawrence was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the night, in recognition of her wonderful, dependable, and tireless service as Club Secretary. Her attention to detail, organisational skills, and calm presence behind the scenes have been absolutely vital to the smooth running of Glaslough Villa. Jacqui is the kind of person who keeps everything ticking—fixtures arranged, communications clear, paperwork done, and problems solved—often before anyone else even knows they exist. She brings structure, clarity, and warmth to everything she does. The truth is, we’d be lost without Jacqui. She is the quiet engine behind the club’s operations and a constant source of support to players, coaches, and committee members alike. Her dedication doesn’t stop when the final whistle blows—it carries on late into the evenings and across countless hours of unseen work. On behalf of everyone at Glaslough Villa: thank you, Jacqui. You make our club stronger every single day.

John Kehoe was named Club Person of the Year in recognition of his tireless dedication both on and off the pitch. What truly sets John apart is his selflessness. He gives his time freely, supports everyone around him, and plays a vital role in keeping the club running smoothly week in, week out. His recognition as Club Person of the Year is well-deserved. Glaslough Villa is proud to have people like John Kehoe at its core. His efforts are a shining example of the spirit that keeps community football alive
Our Chairman John McEvoy was presented with a commemorative plaque, recognising an incredible 35 years of outstanding commitment to Glaslough Villa FC. John's service to the club spans generations—through good times and tough ones, from building squads to developing facilities, and from guiding young players to shaping the club’s long-term vision. As Chairman, John has been a steady hand at the helm, leading with integrity, passion, and an unwavering belief in the power of community football. His leadership has helped steer the club through change and growth, always putting players and people first. Every pitch he's lined, every trophy we’ve lifted, and every child who’s pulled on a Villa jersey has, in some way, benefited from his dedication. Beyond the title of Chairman, John is the heart and soul of Glaslough Villa—a man whose work and firm belief in the club’s values have left a lasting legacy. His plaque is a small gesture of thanks for a lifetime of service that words can never fully capture. We also extend our sincere thanks to his wife, Rita, whose constant support over the years has made John’s remarkable contribution possible. Behind every great club servant is a strong and understanding partner, and we are deeply grateful to Rita for being such an important part of the Glaslough Villa family. Thank you, John and Rita, for your loyalty, leadership, and love for the club. Here’s to many more seasons of guidance and inspiration.

His efforts behind the mic reflected the same commitment and care he brings to his role as Treasurer. Thank you, Paul, for helping to make the night such a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone.
